The Wesley College Early Works project required precision, coordination and technical expertise to prepare the site for future upgrades. Engaged by Harris HMC, OSVgroup delivered both the civil and landscape scope, with a strong emphasis on complex trenching and service coordination for critical electrical and communications infrastructure.

Scope of Works
Working in a live school environment, our team managed the safe and efficient delivery of multiple trench types (A–G and local runs), designed to accommodate power and data services across the site. Alongside trenching, OSV delivered a mix of civil construction, hardscape and landscaping elements to create a functional, high-quality outdoor environment.

Key Features

  • Complex Trenching & Services: Excavations using 6t machinery, with electrical and communication conduits installed to precise lengths and depths per trench type.
  • Durability & Safety: Stainless steel, heel-proof trench grates, and 25 MPa concrete encasement for critical Type A trenches.
  • Backfill Standards: Engineered mix of 30% bedding sand and 70% Class 3 crushed rock for strength and compliance.
  • Integrated Delivery: Coordination of multiple trades, ensuring trench profiles, separation, and backfill standards were consistent throughout.
  • Civil Works: Construction of a full-size basketball court with reinforced slabs and edge beams, extensive paving in concrete, bluestone, and asphalt, plus new walls and ramps.
  • Landscaping: Advanced tree planting, irrigation, turf, and garden beds for a cohesive green environment.

Lasting Impact
The project demonstrates OSVgroup’s ability to manage technically complex trenching and service works while simultaneously delivering premium landscaping and civil outcomes. The result is a safe, durable and functional space that enhances both the infrastructure and the everyday experience of the Wesley College community.
