OSVgroup was engaged by Shape to deliver the complete external works package for the new Early Learning Centre at Lysterfield Primary School - a purpose-built kindergarten facility providing two dedicated learning rooms for up to 66 children.
Opened at the start of Term 1 2026, the centre has been thoughtfully designed to sit alongside the existing primary school, supporting smoother transitions into formal education and simplifying the daily routine for local families.
OSVgroup's scope covered all civil, landscape and outdoor infrastructure works, delivering a cohesive and nature-inspired environment that encourages curiosity, active play and connection with the outdoors.
Scope of Works
OSVgroup delivered a full external works package across the site, including:
- Car park construction and associated civil works
- Decking installation with accessible ramps and handrails
- Shade sail installation across outdoor play zones
- Irrigation system design and installation
- All soft landscaping including turf establishment, garden beds, tree and shrub planting
- Installation of storage sheds
- Nature play elements including water play feature, sandpit zones and sandstone rock edging
- Mixed surface treatments including rubber softfall, synthetic turf, decomposed granite and exposed aggregate pathways
Key Features
- A nature play water feature - a cobblestone channel fed by a hand pump - providing a tactile, interactive element at the heart of the outdoor space
- Shade sails providing extensive coverage across key play and gathering areas
- Existing mature eucalyptus trees retained and integrated into the landscape design, adding character and natural shade
- A rich planting palette of native and indigenous species softening the built environment and connecting the space to its bushland surrounds
- Multiple surface treatments creating distinct play zones suited to different ages and activities
- Accessible decking and ramp connection from the building to the outdoor areas
Lasting Impact
The completed outdoor environment at Lysterfield ELC provides a safe, engaging and beautifully landscaped setting for young children to learn and play. Every element has been designed to spark curiosity and support development in the early years.
