Formerly known as Fishermans Bend Primary School during planning and design, Narrarrang Primary School now carries a name drawn from the Bunurong Boonwurrung language, meaning She-Oak - a tree native to the local area.
OSVgroup was engaged by Hutchinson Builders to deliver a range of civil, landscape and play space works, helping bring this new inner-city school to life.
Designed to support learning, movement and imaginative play, the outdoor environments were carefully constructed to provide students with engaging, durable and inclusive spaces from day one.
Scope of Works
OSVgroup delivered a comprehensive external works package across the school grounds, including:
- Construction of a sportsfield – both natural turf and a rooftop synthetic field.
- Installation of irrigation systems across turf, landscaped areas and play spaces
- Garden beds and planter beds throughout the site
- Sandblasting works to coloured tilt panels
- Rubber softfall surfacing and synthetic turf installations
- Construction of raised concrete sandpit.
Key Features
- A vibrant junior playground designed for early learners
- Timber teepees, a castle and cubby house to encourage imaginative and discovery-based play
- Bright, bold colours and interactive play elements woven throughout the landscape
- Synthetic turf and rubber surfacing to support safe, all-weather play
- Landscaped garden beds that soften the built environment and add greenery to the site
Lasting Impact
