Moubray Street Community Park Upgrade
Client: City of Port Phillip
Project Value: $800,000 AUD
Completion Date: July 2024
A successful pop-up park has been transformed into a permanent community asset. Delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government’s Local Parks Program, the new Moubray Street Community Park sits beside Albert Park Primary School and provides a welcoming, multi-use green space for the neighbourhood.
Scope of Works
OSV Group removed redundant roadway sections and outdated surfaces to open up the site. Works included construction of accessible pathways, new park fencing, installation of high-quality furniture (benches, picnic tables and a sheltered seating area) and the creation of communal garden beds. Civil and landscape works were coordinated to form a cohesive public realm that now functions as a permanent park.
Key Features
- Recreation zone with a climbing wall and netball ring integrated into colourful play surfacing
 - Accessible pathways and pram-friendly circulation routed to connect with the surrounding streets and the nearby school
 - High-quality park furniture and a weather-protected shelter for gatherings and rest
 - Communal garden beds, new lawn areas and canopy trees to increase shade, biodiversity and visual amenity
 - Removal of roadway and conversion to pedestrian-focused public space, improving safety and activation

Lasting Impact
Moubray Street Community Park has been transformed into a lasting neighbourhood hub. The design encourages play, social connection and everyday use - providing shade, biodiversity and active play opportunities for children and families. Now a permanent public space, the park delivers long-term social and environmental value to the Albert Park community.
