Moubray Street Community Park Upgrade

Location: Moubray Street, Albert Park
Client: City of Port Phillip
Completion Date: 28 July 2024
Project Value: $800,000

As part of our commitment to creating enduring community spaces, we completed the transformation of Moubray Street Community Park into a permanent public asset for the City of Port Phillip, in partnership with the Victorian Government’s Local Parks Program.

This upgrade replaced a temporary pop-up park with a thoughtfully designed, long-lasting green space next to Albert Park Primary School. Works included the removal of roadways and outdated surfaces, installation of accessible pathways, new park fencing, high-quality furniture (benches, picnic tables, and a shelter), and the development of communal garden beds.

To support active play and environmental sustainability, the project also introduced a recreation zone with a netball ring and climbing wall, along with extensive landscaping including new lawn, garden beds, and canopy trees. The result is a functional, inclusive, and biodiverse space for the Albert Park community to enjoy for years to come.

Healey Park – Park and Playground Renewal
Client: City of Whittlesea
Completed: June 2023
Location: 60A North Haven Drive, Epping VIC 3076

OSV Group delivered the park and playground renewal of Healey Park, Epping, for the City of Whittlesea. Works included drainage installation, concrete paving, a full-size basketball court, fencing, shelters, custom park furniture, and installation of Council-supplied playground equipment. The project was completed with natural landscaping, including boulders, timber features, garden beds, softfall surfacing, turfing, planting, and a 13-week horticultural maintenance period.

Client: Hutchinson Builders
Project Value: $3.1 million
Completion Date: December 2024

OSV Group was engaged by Hutchinson Builders to deliver the civil and landscape package for Clyde Secondary College Stage 2, with a primary focus on the construction of the new sports oval and supporting infrastructure.

The project’s major component involved the complete construction of the oval, which included detailed site cultivation and the spreading of site-worn soil to recondition the subgrade. Gypsum and NPK starter fertiliser were applied to enhance soil structure and turf establishment. Topsoil was sourced both on-site and from stockpiles, then regraded across the oval area to specified depths. A 75mm topsoil layer was laid over a 100mm drainage layer constructed above agricultural pipe runs. The oval surface was then hydroseeded using a tailored mix of rye, fescue, and kikuyu for durable year-round coverage.

Extensive subsurface drainage works were carried out, including the installation of slotted ag drains and filter-wrapped pipes to maintain turf performance and prevent waterlogging. Surrounding the oval, OSV constructed pedestrian asphalt hard courts for basketball, tennis, volleyball, and netball. Concrete spoon drains and edging were installed to ensure proper surface water management and finish transitions.

Beyond the oval, OSV completed a wide range of landscape works including concrete pavements (plain, exposed aggregate, and coloured finishes), asphalt pavements, concrete ramps, retaining boulders for garden beds, and timber bench seating. Soft landscaping featured large-scale hydromulching, mulched garden beds, and tree and shrub planting using a variety of stock sizes.

A comprehensive irrigation system was designed and constructed for the sports field, providing 100% turf coverage with pop-up sprinklers and temporary irrigation systems for grass establishment in outer zones. Additional civil works included the installation of new goal posts, sports equipment, site furniture, concrete stairs, handrails, footpaths, and services coordination.

Clyde Secondary School Stage 2 exemplifies OSV Group’s ability to manage complex, large-scale open space and sportsfield developments in collaboration with leading builders and education sector clients.
